Excel Quick Input

The fastest way to input data into Excel to use in PerfCalc:

  • Don't use 'Headers.'
    • Just be sure your data entry columns are in the correct order; Date, Type, Amount.
  • Abbreviate 'Types' as illustrated above.
    • Enter 'Types' as Market, Contribution, Withdrawal, Fees.

Sidebar

All data entries may be made in Excel by, for example, taking values, transactions, and fees from monthly statements for data entry into Excel and then by importing to PerfCalc.

You can import as many different Excel files as you like into one file.

However, additional entries may also be made directly into PerfCalc.

When you are done, click 'Sort' to organize all data by date.

How to Create and Import an Excel File

Create Excel file:

  • With or without the Header fields; Transaction Date, Transaction Type, Transaction Amount.
  • Type; Market Value, Investor Contribution (or just Contribution), Investor Withdrawal (or just Withdrawal), or Advisor Fees Taken (or just Advisor).
  • Order of data entry not important.
    • Can sort by date @ PerfCalc.

Save file as Text (Tab delimited).

  • Save to Desktop for example.

If saved to 'Desktop,' click open file and it will appear as illustrated above; without header titles, entry order not important.
