PerfCalc Story in an Instant.jpg:
Individual Portfolio Performance Report

PerfCalc versions prior to version 5.41 require benchmark Starting Dates and Ending Dates be set/reset to the analysis range set/reset @ an individual portfolio report or for the combined report @ Load:

  • If the global benchmark was used for an individual account, you had to click on Setup, go to Benchmarks, and change the benchmark analysis range dates to sync. with a new/reset From/To performance calculation range dates set @ individual portfolio/Investment Detail and Performance tab.
  • If the portfolio's benchmark was set @ the individual portfolio, you had to click on Set Benchmark for this Account and sync.

Version 5.41 does not require setting/resetting benchmark analysis range dates to the same set/reset report analysis range dates; individual or combined:

  • Though the Starting/Ending Benchmark date fields are no longer needed, we left them there to enable the user to enter Benchmark dates to visually verify the starting and ending values used to calculate % and Annualized calculations.

When an analysis range is set/reset @ an individual portfolio or @ Load/Recalc for a combined report, PerfCalc will seek and apply the same analysis date range to the linked benchmark.

CAUTION: When PerfCalc seeks a benchmark date and that date is not in the database, PerfCalc will, by default, seek and apply the next and nearest benchmark date.

If it seems that a benchmark performance calculation is incorrect, go to Setup or go to an individual account @ Set Benchmark for this Account, enter the analysis range starting and ending dates, and view the % return and the annualized.

If it still looks incorrect, go to the benchmark database @ Setup and look at the dates and values entered for the benchmark analysis range and modify if needed:

  • Download from data source Excel; Yahoo or Russell for example.
    • Import Excel file to PerfCalc.
  • Manually.
    • To modify a dates manually @ the benchmark database, go to setup, select the correct benchmark, scroll to the date, delete the date, and reenter.
